Meeting with resources experts, Brno 10^th January 2011

 

Meeting

On the 10^th January 2011 two resources experts came to our school and discussed with us the energetic situation of our country.

 

Resources and our prospects

The experts described to us what our resources prospects are like. We have quite enough coal and also uranium. We import crude oil and gas. We should realize crude oil is going to finish in about 50 years.

 

Renewable resources

Renewable resources such as solar and wind power are more and more used nowadays. However, the percentage of total energy resources is still very low. The other problem is that these resources are very dependent on the time of day and weather.

 

Nuclear energy

We have to admit that our future will still be connected with nuclear energy.
Experts tried to convince us that if well dealt, nuclear energy is not dangerous and can serve us. 
They described us the process of producing electrical energy in nuclear power stations.
